The Beauty of Segovia
Visiting Segovia means an encounter with history. The City of Segovia is packed with impressive historic monuments and the city centre is on UNESCO’s World Heritage List. Among its most famous monuments, you will find the spectacular Roman Aqueduct, a well preserved structure that is almost 30 meters tall that runs through the city center of Segovia. Just outside Segovia lies the beautiful Sierra de Guadarrama, a Natural Park.

Real Casa de Moneda
The Real Casa de Moneda was a coining factory that was built in the 16th century, commissioned by Philip II to one of the most important architects, Juan Herrera. The first draft of the construction was made by Juan Herrera and a group of tyroleans that were sent by the archduke and since then the place has stayed almost intact. It is an industrial building located between the Eresma river and The garden of Poets.
Shooting in Segovia
Segovia was a pleasure to shoot in, since it is in the mountains the river Eresma runs alongside the city. This makes it nice and cool even in the hot sun – which was a great change from other areas in rural Spain where the sun is always high in a cloudless sky.
We did a small shoot of the city center but most of our time was spent shooting the Real Casa de Moneda, at the invitation of the City of Segovia, for a project we are working on with the, however we will be sure to return to capture the rest of the magnificent city.
